Community First Bank & Trust Announces Officer Promotions


Columbia, TN -   Louis Holloway, President and CEO of Community First Bank & Trust, is pleased to announce the following bank officer promotions.

Elaine Chaffin has been promoted to Senior Vice President.  Elaine, Chief Risk Manager, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of  identifying and monitoring the key risks of the bank and evaluating their management, approving risk management policies, verifying policies are in place to manage the risks in which the bank is exposed including market, operational, liquidity, credit, insurance, regulatory and legal risks. 


Elaine joined the bank in 2010 as Compliance Officer and was promoted to Vice President and Chief Risk Manager a few months later. With over 28 years of banking experience, most recently with Community Bank of the Cumberlands, Elaine oversaw the operations of loans and was the liaison for all legal matters between the bank and Federal and State Banking Regulatory Agencies as well as internal and external auditors. Prior to working with Community Bank, Elaine served in loan operations and compliance with Cumberland Bancorp and Trans Financial Bank among others. Elaine attended National Compliance School at the University of Oklahoma.


Nicole Rankin has been promoted to Assistant Vice President.  Nicole, Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Officer, is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and administration of all aspects of the corporate-wide Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Program.  This position monitors compliance with state and federal Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) laws and regulations.


Nicole joined the bank in 2009 and became Compliance Administrative Assistant in 2010.  She was promoted to Bank Secrecy and Anti-Money Laundering Officer in early 2011.  Prior to working with Community First, Nicole served as Corporal and Field Training Coordinator for Williamson County Jail.  Nicole graduated with honors from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
