Community First’s Cruisin For A Cure
COLUMBIA, TN (May 11, 2009) – With Relay for Life quickly approaching, Community First Bank & Trust has decided to celebrate and raise money and awareness at the same time. Community First Bank & Trust’s Cruisin For A Cure team will be walking during the event in May. To support this worthy cause, team members have asked Community First employees and customers to participate.
During the month of April, employees donated money in order to have the privilege of wearing jeans to work and employees purchased Community First team t-shirts where all profits went to the Relay for Life organization. Customers were asked to donate a dollar during their transaction to benefit the American Cancer Association and to return the following week to bid in a silent auction with item donated by employees and customers. The Community First branch at 501 S. James Campbell Blvd. accepted donations from employees and customers with ALL proceeds benefitting Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. So far, the Community First Bank & Trust Relay for Life team has collected over $2,400 to be donated to the American Cancer Society.
These small fundraisers are all leading up to the main Relay for Life event, May 29th-30th at Columbia Academy’s football field. Community First Bank & Trust’s Relay team will be bringing 20-30 classic cars to the event in an effort to raise additional funds. Attendees will have the opportunity to view various classic cars while enjoying coke floats and Polaroid photos with select cars. Examples of cars that will be participating are a 1970 Chevrolet Truck CST/10, 1972 Pontiac GTO, 1964 Pontiac convertible, 1955 Chevrolet Sedan, “Shake Rattle N Roll” Nitro Funny Car, 1969 Roadrunner Pro Mod and many more!
There is no cost to view the cars but team members will be selling various items on site and all profits will benefit the Relay for Life Charity.
