Community First Partners with Maury County Sherriff’s Rodeo
July 12, 2012 - Community First Bank & Trust is sponsoring the Maury County Sherriff’s Rodeo on July 13th & 14th at the Maury County Park in Columbia. Gates will open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 8:00 pm.
All event proceeds go directly to the Maury County Association of School Resource Offices (MCASRO) & the Maury Co. Reserve Officers Association. They provide Thanksgiving meals to over 70 needy families of Maury County and sponsor the Fraternal Order of Police Christmas Shop with a Cop Program where each Elementary and Middle School of Maury Co. chooses 2 students in need; this year there was a total of 40 students plus several families in need and several sick children in Maury Regional Hospital, who received presents that may not have received anything at all for Christmas. This year they spent over $11,000 on these two very important programs that the School Resource Officers use in the schools to help keep the children off drugs, tobacco and alcohol. In addition to these programs the Maury Co. Reserve Officers Unit uses part of the proceeds to help the Reserve Officers buy needed equipment and assist with training that the county does not provide for them.
